FICT which stands for ‘From Craft to industry’ is an independent design studio founded by Jang Hea Kyoung based in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

She searches for craft elements and makes modern objects and furniture through experimental designing processes. She approaches design with a curious mind and suggests a different perspective through her own aesthetic.

Fragment series is an attempt to give value to the use of fragmentary remains from marble making processes. The marble fragments remain from the industry lose value, leaving most of them abandoned as industrial waste. FICT sees beauty in these fragments that are not artificially machined. They intended to convey the unique beauty of the material by using marble fragment cast in resin.
